Painting, painting
In between staying at Zolo Gallery I am painting. The painting as it looked yesterday.
And as it looks tonight. Maybe too detailed? Needs to be softened up?

The New Mexico & Four Corners show is so nice. Hope the Christmas stressed Swedes will appreciate it!
Tomorrow evening. The first show at Zolo Gallery opens… more pictures later…
After several weeks of preparations for the first Zolo Gallery show I am now gearing up work in the studio. I have to have some new stuff to show at Easter since I am now part of the official studio tour, Konstrundan, in the north-western parts of Skåne. So this is a very early photo, don’t judge yet. Tomorrow we will hang and set up things at Zolo Gallery for the opening on Thursday December 4.
The artists (most?) in Höganäs have been invited to exhibit at Krapperups Konsthall during the month of December, opening is Nov 29. Two pieces per artist may be exhibited and the sales price is limited to SEK 3000 per piece…!? I am showing two photos printed on A2 paper size (420 x 594 mm), professional printing quality. Since the price is limited I have not framed them, just made simple mounts.
Back in Sweden for two weeks now. Jet lag and “other activities”. Preparing for the first show at Zolo Gallery, opening on December 4. New counter top and painted mosaic. Barstools by Lucas (snogaliden.se).
Another version of the mystical person. 80 x 40 cm. Might need some fine tuning… The brooch is a real turquoise stone. I bought it at a trading post south of Gallup, NM.
Some friends brought me a pile of old juniper wood (or pinyon, don’t know for sure). I played around and made a few sculptures.
A rough frame and some small additions. Some say it is finished… I will make another version.
And one more lines painting, this one for a friend! 48 x 32 cm this time.
I completed another line piece a few days ago. Lines No. 17 is 58 x 32 cm.
Yesterday we visited the Museum of Contemporary Indian Arts (MoCNA) in Santa Fe. We saw a very good exhibition with Spokane artist Ric Gendron (pronounced zhan-drea) and it was some of the most interesting and inspiring art I have seen in a long time. It made me go home and start painting immediately. On a Sunday afternoon/evening I painted in an inspired frenzy for four hours and from a fresh piece of plywood I produced this beginning. The piece is 80 x 40 cm.
There is something mystical in the look of this eye and countless others that just keeps me fascinated and motivated to keep working with eyes and faces.
